Our November service of Choral Evensong, at 5 pm Sunday, November 24, will be sung by a collaboration of parish choirs from within the St. Petersburg Deanery: St. Bartholomew’s, St. Thomas’s, and the Cathedral Chamber Choir. That is the last Sunday after Pentecost, also known as Christ the King Sunday, when we acknowledge the kingship of Christ over all the world. The opening hymn is “God, my King, thy might confessing.” The anthem is Carson Cooman’s “King of glory, king of peace.” The concluding hymn is “Blest be the king.” The service is Stanford in B flat. An organ prelude is at 4:45 p.m. A freewill offering is taken and a reception follows. Dwight Thomas is music director and organist.
